In memory of our Mum, Jean Goddard, who was born on 18 August 1931,
and fell asleep on 10 February 2008 aged 76 years
Gone from our home but not from our hearts.
Eternal rest give to them,O Lord.And let perpetual light shine on them.
May they rest in peace.Amen.
May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace.AMEN
When I am gone, release me, let me go
I have so many things to see and do
You must not tie yourself to me with tears
Be happy that I have had so many years
I gave you my love; you can only guess
How much you gave me in happiness
I thank you for the love each have shown
But now it is time I travelled on alone
So grieve a while for me, if grieve you must
Then let your grief be comforted by trust
It is only for a while that we must part
So bless the memories in your heart
I will not be far away, for life goes on
So if you need me, call and I will come
Though you can not see or touch me, I will be near
And if you listen with your heart, you will hear
All of my love around you soft and clear
Then, when you must come this way alone
I will greet you with a smile and a
"Welcome Home"
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say,
Though first of all to let you know that I arrived OK.
I'm writing this from heaven, here I dwell with God above,
Here there's no more tears of sadness, there's just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy because I am out of sight,
Remember I am with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said 'I welcome you'.
'It's good to have you back again, you were missed while you were gone,
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here so badly, you're part of my great plan,
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.'
God gave me a list of things that He wished for me to do,
And foremost on that list - was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night the day's chores put to flight,
God and I are closest to you...in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years,
Because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it helps relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers unless there was some rain.
I wish I could explain to you all that God has planned.
If I were to tell you, you would not understand.
One thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er,
I'm closer to you now than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb,
But together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too;
That as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and in pain,
Then you can say to God at night.. 'My day was not in vain'.
So now I am contented...that my life was worthwhile,
Knowing as I passed along the way I made somebody smile.
So if you meet someone who is sad and feeling low;
Just lend a hand to pick him up as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps, only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go. from that body to be free,
Remember you're not going...you're coming here to me.
You have another Angel and I know she misses you too
But she's probably celebrating knowing and loving you
Another soul to sit with Jesus and have a glass of wine
They will ask him to ease your pain and let you have some time
God only knows why He takes the ones we love
He wants to take them to paradise up above
When you look to the sky at night and see a shining star
She will be looking down on you and wondering how you are
All your friends will surround you with a chain of love
Your loved ones will be doing the same in Heaven up above
So remember when you feel alone and sad,Gods arms will hold you close
Until you remember the happy times with the one you miss the most
Don’t weep for me my dear ones,
I’ve not gone very far
Gently, angels all around me
Took me by the hand
And led me to a garden
In a beautiful golden land
Everywhere was shining
Lovely to behold
I felt a peace I’ve never known
Wrapped in their arms as they took me home
I wish to thank you, everyone
For all your love and care
Just knowing you were with me
And the happy times we shared
I will never leave you ever
I will be in the softest sigh
In the gentle summer breezes
And the clouds in a morning sky
Yes, I will be with you forever
As long as there is love
Then one day we’ll be together
In God’s home above.

Forget me not, for I am there

Know that my love didn't stop at the grave.
My spirit is with you through good times and bad.
I share all the joys and the sorrows you've had.

And realize there's no distance in death.
Ask for my help and I'll answer your call.
Reach for my hand when you stumble and fall.
Run the last mile with a smile on your face.
My arms will be waiting when you finish the race.
